Known Issues

Issue: Weld Database/SN data
Description: Material data stored in the Weld database is taken
directly from BS7608. This means that SN data is given as 'stress range' and not
'stress amplitude'. Without converting this data to be 'stress amplitude'
results in FatigueWizard will be incorrect.
Resolution: V 7.2.0 will have the database stored as stress amplitude.
In current/previous versions the data should be converted before using in
FatigueWizard.
Issue: Report writer cut and paste under Vista
Description: Cut and Paste do not work in Report Writer under Windows
Vista. This because of the way Vista handles the Clipboard.
Resolution: The insert file/picture icons can be used to insert data
from the HD as a workaround. This issue will be fixed as soon as possible but is
somewhat dependant on Microsoft
Issue: Error message "no fatigue30.ini" or similar
Description: An error message appears when reading Femap input data.
The error appears to point to a missing fatigue30.ini file. On inspection this
file exists.
Resolution: The issue is generally caused by using a non-English/US
keyboard layout, specifically, it is caused by using a comma (,) as a numeric
separator instead of the decimal point (.). FatigueWizard expects numbers to be
of the form 1.234 and not 1,234
At the present time, the only workaround is to use a decimal separator for
numbers. This can be changed via Control Panel - Region and Language
Options - Customize Regional Options - Decimal symbol
This error can also appear if your material description (in your FE code)
contains a comma (,).... I.E a material name such as "My material,,,,, is a
steel" is invalid. however "My material is a steel" is ok.
It is hoped to eliminate this problem in the next release
